Cloudlands project manager announced
Helium is delighted to announce that Katy Fitzpatrick has been engaged as the Project Manager for Cloudlands, a new performance arts and technology project produced by Helium for teenagers with chronic illnesses. This project is currently taking place at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, University Hospital Galway and Cork University Hospital.
Katy Fitzpatrick recently moved home to Ireland after almost two years working as Curator, Early Years and Families, Tate London. Prior to that she was Education Curator at Dublin City Gallery The Hugh Lane and Outreach and Centre Manager for Dance Theatre of Ireland. She has an MA in Visual Arts Education from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin and a BA in Art History and Italian from University College Dublin. Her MA thesis, entitled ‘The Drama of Art, an Interdisciplinary Approach to Gallery Education’, examined an interdisciplinary project for secondary school students at The Hugh Lane.
Katy’s previous projects include a recent interdisciplinary community project at Tate London and a collaborative dance project with Coisceim.
Katy has a specific interest in interdisciplinary arts practice, and says of Cloudlands: ‘I am looking forward to taking on the role of Project Manager for Cloudlands; this is an exciting project that puts young people and art practice at its core’.
