Two Suitcases is an award-winning* film and technology ensemble project for teens across Ireland living with health conditions. The Forge tells the story of childhood friends Brian and Tadhg who drift apart in secondary school. Brian takes his revenge through a virtual role-playing game, both teenagers losing something of their real selves as they become more entwined with their online characters. The Forge was filmed at IMMA in autumn 2013 based on a script by Two Suitcases participants. This summer we’re partnering with CanTeen Ireland on a brand new project.

‘Only the little girl knew that the legend of the Ocean fairy was true’…the Ocean Fairy was created by a 12 year old in Temple Street as part of Cloudlands Year 2. She hadn’t been to the sea so the artist took her on a day trip.
Cloudlands is an arts and technology project for teenagers in Irish hospitals. Artists in Residence collaborate with participants on developing new artworks based on their ideas, interests and experiences.
We gratefully acknowledge the Irish Museum of Modern Art for providing the venue for this event, The Loreto Foundation for additional funding in 2014, and Martin Moore for his support of the Two Suitcases project.
