UCD Med Day on 17 October to raise money for Helium
We are delighted that Helium is one of the chosen charities for this year’s UCD Med Day, MedSoc’s annual charity fundraising day. Taking place on Friday, 17 October, over 600 UCD Medical students will take to the streets of Dublin in order to raise as much money as possible for these eight Irish charities: CF Ireland, Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), The Irish Hospice Foundation, Helium, Laura Lynn Foundation, Bone Marrow for Leukaemia Trust, The Mater Foundation and St. Vincent’s foundation.
Over the past number of years, UCD Medical Society and its members have raised a considerable amount for Irish charities, with just over €23,000 being raised last year. They are hoping to build on last year’s figure so please lend your support to make Med Day 2014 one of the most successful yet. Collectors will be wearing brightly coloured blue and white t-shirts.
Timetable for activities on Friday 17th:
7.00-10.00am: Morning Collections, with over 600 people taking part in over 70 locations across the city.
10.30am-12.30pm: Big Breakfast @ Meeting House Square, Temple Bar.
12.30-2pm: Lunchtime Collection
2-2.30pm: Busking @ top of Grafton Street
There will also be a shorter period of collections taking place on the evening of the 16th, between the hours of 5 and 8pm.
