Cloudlands Dublin: Preparatory artwork for installation at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital
Rachel Tynan, Cloudlands artist in residence at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital, Dublin, has been busy this spring prepping for a final installation at the hospital in collaboration with young participants on the project.
Rachel gave one of the teenagers she works with a set of clues as to what the final project will be:
1. It was small but now it’s big
2. It can travel around the country with stories
3. It’s not light, it’s heavy
The teenager suggested that it was ‘A colony of singing/talking people with crab pincers.’ That was our second guess!
Below, a selection of preparatory artwork for the installation, which will be unveiled in June:

Deer ‘Sundials’ that Rachel has been working on in response to one of the teenagers stories. When the sun shines, the image is revealed through the sun projection across the wall.
