Fireflies: New artist in residence project

Teenagers at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital are taking part in a new residency project with artist Rachel Tynan called Fireflies. The project is aimed at teenagers who are or will be transitioning to adult care. Rachel is visiting the hospital once a week to collaborate with teenagers at the bedside and develop work based on their interests and experiences.

Rachel is working with artist Marie Brett on a series of development days to explore the theme of transition.

The Fireflies Project has emerged from Helium’s previous project with teenagers, Cloudlands, and is supported by BNP Paribas Foundation through the Dream Up programme. The project is further supported by the Arts Council, Dublin City Council and the National Lottery.
