Autumn means falling leaves, Halloween adventures, and lots of new creative programmes here at Helium Arts. Take a look at the projects and workshops we have going on this season.
Midlands Animation Project for Children with Diabetes
This autumn, Helium Arts is hosting an animation project for children with diabetes aged 9-12 who are living in the Midlands. At a taster workshop in October, participants got to try out animation techniques and meet other children. In November, they will bring their new skills to our mid-term camp where they will get to make their own animations. The project is led by visual artist Ciara Harrison and animator Pádraig Fagan of Paper Panther Productions.

Dublin Open Studios for Children with Long-Term Health Conditions
Children aged 9-12 with long-term health conditions are invited to join Helium’s new Open Studio art programme in Dublin. Once a month, participants will have the opportunity to connect and get creative in the fantastic Irish Museum of Modern Art. Explore new creative skills and materials, get inspired by IMMA’s exhibitions, and make art together in a relaxed environment. The Dublin Open Studio is led by visual artist Ciara Harrison and supported by medical professionals.

Summer Stars Online Creative Project for Teenagers with CF
Teenagers aged 13 – 17 with Cystic Fibrosis are taking part in the Summer Stars online creative project led by Helium Arts in collaboration with Cystic Fibrosis Ireland. Facilitated by artist Eszter Némethi and supported by An Cosán Virtual Community College, participants connect creatively with other teenagers living with CF, experiment with digital tools, and create work based on their ideas and interests over 6 online sessions this autumn.

Creative Health Hubs: Community Workshops for Children & Young People with Long-Term Illnesses in Cork
Children aged 9-12 and teenagers aged 13-18 are taking part in our community workshops in Cork this autumn. Led by artist Siobhán Clancy, participants get to try out a variety of creative activities that are based on their own unique interests and ideas, in a fun and relaxing environment over the course of several workshops.
