I am an ARTIST

We currently employ five full time Helium Arts’ artists who are based in our four main creative health hubs – Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway.  In addition to this, we employ a panel of associate artists who work with us on a freelance basis.

The role of the Associate Artist is to deliver inspiring collaborative arts programmes which are responsive to the needs and vision of children and young people living with lifelong physical conditions and additional needs, including disabilities. The artists we employ must have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and a working understanding of inclusive arts practice relevant to the needs of participants. Artists need a flexible approach to children and young people and how workshops are facilitated.

Training and continued professional development is provided to all artists on our panel.

Artists Pay and Conditions Policy

As Ireland’s national children’s arts and health organisation and strategically funded by the Arts Council, Helium Arts has a responsibility to not only produce work of the highest quality but also to respect, acknowledge and nurture the human, artistic talent that contributes to the making of great work.

We aspire to be a leader and uphold the best-practice principles set out in the Arts Council’s policy on the fair and equitable remuneration and contracting of artists.

Please read our policy on Artists Pay and Conditions here.
