‘Making art and friends’ was how one teenager described Electric Feathers, an art project led by Helium Arts in partnership with Epilepsy Ireland in 2018 for young teenagers (aged 12-16) with epilepsy. Here artist Rachel Tynan and Robert put the final touches to 'Brain Map', an artwork created by the group as a whole exploring group identity.

Art Workshops

On Helium’s art workshops, teenagers living with chronic illnesses are given the opportunity to take control of the creative process and to work with an artist as equals, supporting the development of independence, decision-making and communication skills and helping to build self-esteem.
