What to Expect at Your First Helium Arts Workshop
Welcome!
If you have signed up for your first art workshop with Helium Arts, or if you’re thinking of joining a workshop for the first time, you are in the right place!
What is a Helium Arts workshop?
Helium Arts workshops are just for young people who are living with lifelong physical health conditions. They are a place where you can relax, have fun and make friends with other kids outside of school.
What will I do?
You will play games and explore different art activities, like painting, crafting, animation, adventure arts, printmaking, and even sound design, film making and more.
If you would like some quiet time during the workshop, you can take some time in our chill out tent.
Who else will be at the workshop?
Everyone in your workshop will be around your age.
There will always be a professional artist from Helium Arts, grown up volunteers, and a professional medic in the room so that everything goes smoothly and you can focus on having fun and being creative.
What if I’ve never done art before?
That’s okay! The workshops are all about exploring and having fun, and the professional artist will be there to help if an activity is new to you.
Do I need to bring anything?
All the art supplies you need will be provided at the workshop. Dress comfortably (you might want to wear clothes you don’t mind getting paint on!) and if you would like to bring your favourite blanket or teddy, we’d love to meet them! You will have a chance to tell us about your medical needs when you sign up for the workshop.
How do I sign up?
If you want to attend a workshop, ask a parent, guardian, or trusted adult to email us on hello@helium.ie.
We hope to see you soon!
