About This Workshop
As part of our Creative Future Pathways programme, we have teamed up with Sample Studios to bring a special version of their Creative Careers programme to Helium participants. Taking place in the Sample Studios project space with Helium Associate Artist Chris Finnegan, this four-day summer camp runs from the week of June 22nd until Thursday June 25th.
This is a hands-on, immersive week designed to give you a real insight into what a creative career can look like. Over the four days, you will have the chance to meet and work alongside three creative professionals who will share their work, their stories and their process with you.
You will spend time with DJ Stevie G, exploring the world of music and sound. You will work with illustrator Olivia Golden, getting into the details of her practice and trying your hand at illustration. And you will hear from animator Etaoin Melville, learning about the world of animation and making some work of your own.
Each workshop is a chance not just to learn about these creative fields, but to actually make something, get your hands dirty and find out what excites you. The week is relaxed and informal, and no previous experience is needed.
This camp has been specially adapted from Sample Studios’ Creative Careers programme to respond to what you told us in our survey and at our March consultation, so it has been built with Helium participants in mind.
