JOURNEYS – 2025 Dublin Showcase

JOURNEYS – For a Better Tomorrow

An Art Exhibition by Young Creators IMMA, Dublin | 5-7 June 2025

"With the possible exception of the equator, everything begins somewhere." – C.S. Lewis

For children attending the Lynn Clinic, Paediatric Inclusion Health Clinic at CHI at Temple Street – whose works were featured in – JOURNEYS – For a Better Tomorrow, that “somewhere” may look different—but it’s no less powerful. Each creation acts as a personal beginning towards a brighter future, challenging expectations while creating works of art.

With every stroke of a marker a world starts to appear whilst colours act as a foundation for emotion and self expression. Each of the artworks featured welcome us to witness the journeys of these young artists as they create their own paths in life – reminding us that a journey isn’t only about where it leads, but also about the stories it tells along the way.

Dublin Exhibition: A Celebration of Young Voices

The Dublin Exhibition ran from 5 to 7 June at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA), bringing together creativity, connection, and celebration in a space filled with colour, energy, and story. Over the course of three days, young artists, their families, and the wider public came together to experience and share in the power of creative expression.

On 7 June, to mark Cruinniú na nÓg—the national day of free creativity for young people—a special open workshop was held. Young people, friends, and families were invited to take part in a free, artist-led session filled with fun, imaginative activities for all ages. The event captured the spirit of the day, encouraging curiosity, collaboration, and joyful participation.

The exhibition opened with a Family Celebration event that included an artist walk-through, where visitors had the chance to hear the stories behind the artworks and how they came to life. Throughout the weekend, there was a strong sense of connection as guests met the young artists and their families, many of whom attended events and shared their experiences. A particularly exciting moment came with a visit from Deric Ó hArtagáin of Ireland AM on Virgin Media TV, adding a buzz to the occasion and bringing the Dublin exhibition to a nationwide audience. Watch is back here.
