Helium and Creative Ireland Fingal, is seeking an enthusiastic, early-mid career, multi-disciplinary Visual Artist to participate in a unique Artist shadowing opportunity. The selected shadowing Artist should live or work in the Fingal area and have an interest in collaborative and inclusive arts practice working with children and young people with long-term physical health conditions.
The successful applicant will work alongside a Helium Associate Artist as part of our Autumn / Winter Community Programme in the Fingal area throughout October – December 2026 with Artist training opportunities available through to April 2027 approx.
The selected shadowing Artist will have a keen interest in building supportive relationships and a working understanding of inclusive arts practice relevant to the social and emotional needs of children and young people living with long-term physical health conditions, additional needs and disabilities and those from migrant and refugee backgrounds. The selected Artist will be guided by and learn from a Helium Associate Artist to deliver inspiring collaborative visual arts programmes in community settings and will be provided with support and training from the Helium Team.

Deadline for Expressions of Interest: 12pm Wednesday 30th September.
Selection Process: Shortlisted Artists may need to be available for a short online conversation on the week beginning 5th October.
We aim to notify the Selected Artist by Monday 12th October.
Start Date: Selected Shadowing Artist will have a pre phone call with Lead Artist ahead and aim to schedule 1 of the online training sessions with Helium Team ahead of the first shadowing session on 28th October 2026.
The selected Artist will begin Garda Vetting Process immediately after selection.
